Submitting Articles

Cultic Studies Review maintains a distinguished editorial advisory board, which advises the editor, Michael D. Langone, Ph.D., on submitted articles and news items.

Individuals interested in submitting articles, comments, or letters to Cultic Studies Review should address them to the editor. Cultic Studies Review will consider a variety of articles from diverse disciplines and points of view, including those favorable to controversial groups and processes. Although many of our articles are scholarly in length and content, we do consider brief opinion columns and articles that are popular in style, such as are published in magazines. We will consider articles in French, Spanish, Italian, and German, as well as English.

There are two ways to submit articles:

  1. Via traditional mail:  Submit 3 copies of the article, which should be no more than 50 double-spaced pages, including references and tables, although some exceptions can be made.  Make a separate title and author page so that the article can be sent out for blind review, if appropriate.  If possible, put the article on a computer disk, preferably in Microsoft Word. A one- or two-sentence biographical description and an abstract of 150 words or less are required, except for brief opinion columns.
  1. Via E-mail: Send the article as an attachment to email_orderdept.  The attachment should be readable by Microsoft Word.  Adhere to the requirements in the preceding paragraph.  Make sure that your name, job title, affiliation, address, phone(s), and e-mail are included with the cover letter.

If you have not heard back from us within a month, feel free to e-mail or write Dr. Michael Langone, the editor.

Comments on articles published in CSR should address only the article in question and should be no more than one-half the length of the original article.

Regarding reference lists: American Psychological Association style guidelines are preferred, although any standard system (e.g., Modern Language Association) is acceptable, provided that all footnotes and references either come at the end of the paper or are part of a Microsoft Word document.

Cultic Studies Review reserves the right to authorize reproduction of any article or portion thereof.  No part of this journal may be reproduced, except for brief review purposes, without written permission from the Editor.
